Warehouse Storage Solutions went through a rigourous tender process for the design, supply and installation of a 35,000 square foot mezzanine floor. The brief set out by Davies Turner was for the full turnkey of designing a mezzanine floor, full 1 hour fire protection, lighting, smoke detection, stair enclosures and removal/re-positioning of industrial heaters.
With such a short timescale Warehouse Storage Solutions had to push the manufacture of the floor forward by 2 weeks, which meant using a 7 day concrete cure of the piles and pile caps. As the piles were being installed, steel work was being delivered to site ready for the first phase of installation. There were 4 phases of installation and on completion of phase 2 we commenced with the installation of the fire protection to the structure. On completion of phase 3 the electrical and smoke detection installation commenced. On Friday 22nd December the mezzanine floor was handed over to Davies Turner ready for them to start utilising the additional floor space.
A thorough clear-up and cleaning of both the mezzanine deck and the underlying floor-slab completed the project.
Warehouse Storage Solutions was awarded the contract due to their ability to handle major turnkey projects, act as primary contractor, achieve the highest levels of Health & Safety and to run CDM sites. This ability set us apart from the competition which gave Davies Turner peace of mind knowing that the contract would be handed over on time and within budget.
